After gaining a degree in graphics from Preston Polytechnic Clint began working for London design consultancies. In 1988 he became a Chartered Designer and then set up a design practice with clients including Woolworths, the National Trust and Eurostar. In 1990 Clint was asked by British Rail to design ‘The Children’s Guide to Rail Safety’. Written by Roald Dahl, with illustrations by Quentin Blake, it was a turning point in his career and he started to illustrate, working for clients such as Basildon Bond, Harper Collins and English Heritage. In 2005, Clint built up a new body of work inspired by his inclination to entertain and amuse. The results are deceptively simple; they are humorous, light-hearted and joyful. Above all there is a sense of what it is to be a child - the mess, the adventure and the wonder. As Clint’s sales took off, it became impossible to keep up with demand so in October 2007 Clint launched his range of limited edition prints at more affordable prices. He has taken great care to make it almost impossible to tell the print from the original. In 2008, six of Clint’s paintings were included in the Association of Illustrators’ Best of British Illustration exhibition.
