Artist: Jane Bristowe

Jane Bristowe has created a menagerie of brightly coloured animal linocuts that are striking and simple. A linocut is a block of hessian covered by a thick piece of linoleum, into which the image is carved. The linocut is then inked and pressed on paper to create a print. Only 50 have been produced and about 10 have already been sold. Each one of these Jane Bristowe limited edition art prints is an original because it is not a copy of another work of art and is technically known as an 'impression'.

This contemporary art print can be supplied unmounted and unframed (sent rolled in a postal tube) or framed (single white mount with flat 19mm wide natural beech frame). Please note, framing will be done to order and so the framed print cannot be returned.

Size (approx): 30 x 30cm (image) / 46 x 56cm (paper) / 44 x 50cm (framed).
Estimated delivery time: allow up to 28 days in case the image is not in stock and needs to be printed.
Delivery cost: £10.00.

Delivery times and prices are for mainland UK, please contact us if you have any other delivery requirements.

Jane Bristowe grew up in Woking, Surrey and attended life-drawing classes for 8 years to learn the skills of drawing. She left about 10 years ago in order to develop her own voice and style and in 2005 she attended Putney School of Art to learn printing techniques. In her linocuts and etchings Jane has discovered an expressive freedom and originality through the creation of simple line drawings. Jane takes inspiration from the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters including Klee, Matisse and Picasso, as well as from her everyday surroundings - birds, nature and human forms. One of Jane's recent works was shortlisted for the Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition 2008.

Please note: if you wish to return an unframed print, you need to follow these instructions to ensure its safe return: Lay the print flat on a clean, flat, hard surface on top of a piece of tissue paper slightly larger than the print paper. Lay another piece of same-size tissue paper flat on top of the print. Place the 3" diameter poster tube lightly across the bottom of the print at one end. Roll the postal tube away from you whilst rolling the print and tissue papers tightly round the tube. Place the print, tightly rolled around the tube, into the 4" diameter poster tube allowing the print to expand to the 4" diameter.
