Beautiful and unusual glass plate comprising a pattern inspired by lace. Can be wall-hung or placed on a stand (fixings not supplied). With Lucy Alexandra Batt contemporary glass art, the pattern is created by sand-carving the design onto a glass panel, using a stencil.

Facts about this artwork:
* The gold / black glass plate comprises a layer of gold glass on top of a layer of black glass - once the stencil is applied, the rest of the gold glass is carved away to leave the gold pattern on top of the black glass.
* The black / black plate has a shiny black surface which is protected by the stencil, revealing the matt glass underneath when the glass is carved away.
* Please note, the glass will feature natural shallow pits in the surface - this is a characteristic of natural glass.

Lucy set up a glass studio in 2004 after completing her postgraduate degree in Glass and Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art, London. The signature of her work is the sand-carving of intricate patterns onto glass vessels, creating pieces with a decadent yet contemporary style. These patterns glide across and into the glass’s glossy surface, creating a play of texture and colour, sometimes reaching deeply into the vessel itself, revealing layers of colour in its path. Each piece is made with a dedicated attention to detail and the use of the finest materials. In her work, Lucy strives to breech the void between fine art objects and functional pieces for interiors, as she combines the visual delicacy of intricate patterns with the solidity and practicality of glass vessels.
