A celebration of the traditional use of the old-fashioned doily within the home. By removing the object that the doily is usually placed upon, we are left with the doily itself, which, when shaped and strengthened into a shelf, becomes more than just a decorative item. Polly Westergaard contemporary home accessories not only look good, they're practical too.
This contemporary home accessory is made from laser cut mild steel and can be powder coated in red, white or black.

Polly was born and brought up in London by her Danish father and British Mother, until she moved to Newcastle to attend Northumbria University, where she graduated with a Three Dimensional Design Degree in 2006. She then undertook a two-year design in residency programme at the university. She has been highly influenced by Scandinavian design and imagery drawing from the Danish side of her family roots which is evident in all of her products. Her work is influenced by the modernist movement and has been updated for the 21st century.
