Sally Scaffardi is a professional photographer and digital artist based in Nottinghamshire. She has received a Distinction from the Royal Photographic Society for her floral photography. Sally's digital artwork is mainly of floral images - the flowers are grown in her garden and photographed in her studio. She uses a combination of medium format film photography and digital photography. Often several photographs are placed into one multi-layered image then, using digital techniques, the shape and form of the particular flower is focused on to create abstract designs. This is achieved by modifying a particular part of the flower in order to emphasize a certain quality or content. Sally is strongly influenced by the latest contemporary interior design schemes and she describes her work as bridging the gap between photography and art.
