Simon has painted and sketched for as long as he can remember. On leaving school he was offered a foundation course at Falmouth School of Art, however he went to University to study economics as art was not considered a career back then! When he graduated, he still leant towards using his drawing skills and briefly considered a career in architecture, but couldn't face another seven years of education, so entered the world of sales and then recruitment and became a successful headhunter. The artist was always there inside him though and Simon eventually started painting full time. He now works as a full time artist, taking his inspiration from many things including the beauty of the Great British landscape, floral form and colour, texture, life past and present and the people he meets. Simon tries to ensure that his emotions and sense of fun are clearly reflected in all of his art. Each of his pictures has its own story to tell - he hopes that everyone gets a little something for themselves out of his art.
